Freshness

When every source was last verified — auto-derived from the data, not the commit log.

4 contributors · last commit today · 62 commits to content/data in the last 90 days

Pipeline stages

Each stage's source verification window. Green <6 months old, yellow 6–12 months, red >12 months.

Country tax data

Tax rates and cost-of-living baselines used by the runway calculator. Valid until marks when the entry must be re-reviewed for the next tax year — the build fails automatically if any date passes.

How sources are verified · open methodology

Trust methodology

Every checklist item links to an external source. Sources are categorized by tier, dated, and reviewed on a fixed cadence. The rubric and the cadence are public — there is no hidden algorithm.

Source tiers

Three tiers cover every source on the site. The tier tells you who said it.

Government
Croatia's own authority on the rule — MUP, Porezna uprava, HZZO, the relevant ministry. The most direct source you can get.
International
EU institutions and treaty bodies — EU Commission, HCCH (apostille), EU pet rules. Authoritative on the framework, but national implementation can vary.
Community
Public registries and contributor reports. Supporting context, not primary authority.

Renewal cadence

Every source carries a verified date. The build fails automatically when a date drifts beyond the threshold — the project cannot ship a stale source.

  • Warning at 180 days. The verified date renders amber on stage pages.
  • Failure at 365 days. The build fails until the source is re-verified or removed.
  • Country tax baselines carry a separate validUntil field. The build fails the day that date passes — used for figures that go out of date on a known calendar (annual tax thresholds).

How the per-stage one-liner is computed

The line above each stage is a fact, not a score. It reports raw counts: how many sources back the stage, what tiers they belong to, and how old the oldest one is. "Oldest verified 187 days ago" means today minus that date.

There is no HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW bucket on stage pages. Per-claim risk and uncertainty are still labeled — they describe a specific claim, not a magic number.

Where the data lives

Source URLs and verification dates are committed to a public Git repository. Every verified date corresponds to a commit and a contributor — full provenance is in the commit history. Spotted something stale? Open a PR or an issue.
