About me

I’m Dmitrii Novikov, a distributed systems engineer based in Croatia.

I’ve been a backend developer since 2019, and have contributed to the OSDU Data Platform since 2021 - cloud-native data infrastructure for the energy industry, running on Google Cloud and Kubernetes. Mostly Java and Spring Boot, with a background in QA before that which still shapes how I think about testing.

What I care about is the intersection of distributed systems and observability - making a multi-service architecture transparent enough that you can tell what it is actually doing, rather than what you assumed it was doing.

Outside of work I build things in Go. One of them is ohmoveagain, an open-source, community-maintained guide and pipeline for IT professionals relocating to Croatia - covering the EU Blue Card, Visa D, MUP registration, required documents, and a runway calculator.
